Isaak J. Liptzin

Isaak J. Liptzin is an award-winning cinematographer and producer based in New York City. Born in San Francisco and raised in Italy, Isaak moved to New York in 2009 to study photography at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. With a background in visual journalism, his work blends technical precision with a focus on social issues, historical narratives, and current events.

In 2013, he co-founded Awen Films, an independent production company specializing in documentary features. Under that umbrella, his filmography includes Elvira Notari: Beyond Silence (2025), which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival; Stonebreakers (2022), winner of the audience award and an honorable mention at Festival dei Popoli; and If Only I Were That Warrior (2015), recipient of the Italian Golden Globe for Best Documentary; and other films and shorts.

His experience ranges across diverse production environments, including broadcast, news, and commercial. He served as a producer and camera operator for the Netflix Originals series First Team: Juventus and field-produced U.S. presidential election coverage for Italian national broadcaster Rai during the 2016, 2020, and 2024 campaigns. His news and videojournalism experience includes work for international networks including MSNBC, Al Jazeera, Sky, ZDF, ORF, and WNYC Radio.

He has managed video operations for organizations including NYU Casa Italiana, the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, and the Foreign Policy Association. His commercial portfolio includes projects for Ferrari, Bulgari, and Sotheby's, alongside a decade of experience filming New York Fashion Week shows for brands including Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Ralph Lauren.
